The Details:

“Earlier today, a religious IDF soldier was driving his car through that neighborhood [Ramat Beit Shemesh Bet] when he was assailed by stones. He lost control of his car, crashed into a post, and had to be hospitalized.”

How is one to react to this? I mean to ask not emotionally—which would shock, disgust, anger, disappointment, and bitterness—but intellectually. How do we wrap our minds around the idea that such behavior can take place? That a group of Jews who purport to be religious, and indeed holier than thou, can endanger the life (and almost kill!) of another Jew in such as fashion! How are we to come to terms with this? I don’t have an easy answer.
